The FIA extrication bag is used by extrication teams working at FIA open cockpit events, where extricable seats are used and a common series of tools and accessories is required.
The FIA extrication kit contains:
-A carbon fibre head board for use on the extricable seats, and a set of small cushions to adapt the head to the headboard.
-Two orange straps, each with a male clasp at each end, for use with the lap and pelvic buckles of the extricable seat.
-Two red straps, for use as chin and forehead straps when attaching the casualty’s head to the headboard of the seat (they now include a sliding cushion to be placed at the contact points of the chin and forehead).
-Black or blue straps to bind the hands and ankles of the victim prior to extrication.
-Four black lifting straps with D-ring carabiners. These attach to the extrication loops on the extricable seat
-4mm Allen wrench.
